Some items I would recommend you take with you on a trip around the world!
Friday, June 4th, 2010A trip around the world can be a tricky thing to prepare for, you just need to be careful not to over do it. Remember that everyone is different, but also remember that holidays around the world require light packing, no matter who you are. Keeping only a small amount of clothing on you is the best practice, even though it might be a long holiday, even months.
Walking long distances and travelling around on your feet will be an integral part of you round the world holiday, so be careful when packing. Do not go mad with packing t-shirts and jumpers, you only need a couple of each, I would recommend two t-shirts and two jumpers. Only take two pairs of Jeans, these are generally the heaviest part of your luggage, so don’t go over the top. Underwear is very important, it won’t be able to get washed everyday so take plenty of it with you. Jeans can last for around a week, and although we don’t wear them that long, they can get dirty and still be OK. However underwear you will need to change daily, this is the part of clothing that once it’s dirty it’s making contact with skin constantly, and contact with parts you want to keep clean!
The most important item for me is the Sleeping Bag. The level of quality for all the hotels won’t be the most amazing, and you may find that you need a sleeping bag for extra warmth. The sleeping bag will be an absolute life saver, there is no doubt in my mind you will need it at some point. Luxury holidays this is by far not a luxury holiday, more like a vagabond holiday. Some countries require you to where some more “water resistant” clothing, but never fear, as long as you have your umbrella you will be fine. You may not think it but an umbrella will really help out.
Caribbean holidays also Maldives holidays all of these may not be a part of the holiday on your trip, but make a good relaxing holiday!
