Tourists from all over the United Kingdom have been traveling to Brighton for holidays for well over one hundred years due to its location and appeal. European tourists also have been coming to taste the flavors of the British south coast for a number of years. Brighton (also now known as ‘London-by-the-sea’) is the archetypal British beach town, with everything that is expected in a town bearing the title: a grand pier, a beautiful (former) royal palace, theaters, concert halls, and probably the most important, a fantastic beach. Though it is much more than the sum of it’s parts, most people say it is the atmosphere that makes it so special. Due to the University of Brighton and the University of Sussex, there is no shortage of young people to fill up the local bars and clubs on Friday and Saturday nights, Co-currently people travel from all over the south coast of Britain to sample Brighton’s night time amenities. On the other end of the scale, in terms of age, Brighton is also hugely popular with people who have been visiting the city since, in some cases, the end of the second world war, when they used to holiday with their parents. This is why Brighton has such high acclaim for being one of the most culturally diverse cities in the UK. So you know what you want to do and where you want to go, but where will you stay? Accommodation in Brighton comes in all possible budget ranges. You can pay very little for a bed in one of the very clean hostels, or maybe you want to stretch to a 5 star resort, either and anything in between is available in Brighton. The best cheap seafront Brighton budget hotels are only an online search away, so do not forget to search before you travel! Finally, if you are looking for a holiday to experience such sights and sounds of a seafront city on the south coast of the United Kingdom, look no further than Brighton. The chances are you will already be booking your return visit before you leave from the first!

Bring to mind Nottingham and mostly all visitors recall the legend of Sir Robin Hood of Sherwood Forest and though folklore attracts many folk year after year there is plenty more to the city of Nottingham than meets the eye. Infact the city of Nottingham is home to a respectable selection of interesting tourist attractions making it an excellent base for a short break and the article below discusses the city and a few of attractions in Nottingham, and also some guest houses offering Nottingham B&B accommodation.

The city of Nottingham is in Nottinghamshire, in the East Midlands of England. As well as Sherwood Forest, the legend of Robin Hood, his merry men and the Sheriff of Nottingham, Nottingham is also renowned for the lace making business especially during the Industrial Revolution when it gained a worldwide reputation for excellence.

Nottingham Lace Market

At one time the heart of the worldwide lace industry, during the time of the British Empire, Nottingham’s Lace Market is, today, a protected heritage area. It is home to many splendid examples of 19th Century industrial architecture. The Lace Market wasn’t like a normal market area, instead of featuring stalls and salesmen, the lace market was a number of warehouses and salesrooms displaying and selling lace. After the decline in the lace industry the area became rundown however, today, the majority of the fine warehouses have been restored and renovated for alternative use for instance photographic studios and similar. The Nottingham Lace Market is a popular tourist attraction.

Shire Hall & Galleries of Justice

Not a great distance from the Lace Market can be found the Galleries of Justice in Shire Hall. Shire Hall is a Georgian civic building featuring Neoclassical columns, pilasters and dome. The front of the hall has, if you look at it closely, a spelling error Goal instead of Gaol. The Hall has two excellently preserved courtrooms from the Victorian period plus old cells, a women’s prison, bath house, an Edwardian police station and a prisoner’s exercise yard.

Nottingham is a fantastic place to have a short city break. You will find lots to see and do within the city and an selection number of tourist attractions nearby. Places well worth a visit include; Newstead Abbey, Hardwick Hall and Wollaton Hall.

As all all bed & breakfast in England, accommodation in Nottingham is commonly first class at a reasonable rate and many visitors choose to stay in Nottingham for part of their break and then elsewhere for the remaining nights.

The capital city of England and Britain, London, has a large collection of world class tourist attractions, ranging from the immensely old to very recent additions. The majority of the attractions are famous all ’round the globe (for example, the Houses of Parliament, Buckingham Palace the Tower of London). Among the recently built are the Millennium Bridge, London Aquarium, Millenium Dome and the London Eye.

The Merlin Entertainments London Eye (it’s full name), is more frequently called, just, the London Eye or,occasionally, the Millenium Wheel (because of the fact that it was erected as part of the Millenium celebrations). The Merlin Entertainments London Eye was officially opened by the then English P.M., Mr. Tony Blair, in the night of December thirty first alarmingly there was a number of technical safety problems which led to it not being opened to the public until March. At the time of erection it was the highest Ferris wheel on the planet being four hundred and forty three feet in height.

The huge wheel can be discovered in Jubilee Gardens on the South Bank of the River Thames peering down upon the Houses of Parliament below. From within one of the 32 capsules towering over the whole of London it is possible to view a large number of the many London landmarks, the earlier mentioned Houses of Parliament, Westminster Abbey, St Paul’s, Buckingham Palace and Hampton Court Palace are just a handful, what a fantastic way to see nearly all of London and, the most likely, the reason it is one of the busiest visitor attraction in London.

The London Eye’s first flight is at 10.00 am but the ticket office opens at 9.30 am. The Eye closes at half past nine at night between August and July, 8 at night between October and April and at 9 pm for the rest of the year.

People arriving by car will be pleased to learn that there are three car parks nearby. For those traveling in coach parties there are parking facilities very close to the Eye (Telephone) +44 (0)870 990 8886) for details.

The easiest method to get to the London Eye is by the Tube, simply get off at one of the following stations; Embankment, Westminster, Charing Cross, or the nearest Waterloo. It is also possible to arrive by boat, get off at Waterloo Millennium Pier.

Finding London bed and breakfast accommodation is as simple as going over to Bing, Yahoo or Google (or any other search engine of your choice. Whatever you prefer you are sure to find your perfect London accommodation because the city must feature the most guest houses, bed and breakfasts and hotels than any other. Luxury accommodation to the cheap, huge corporate hotels to the smaller boutique hotels and more.

Vacations in Great Britain seem to be incredibly popular at the moment, probably due to the the current economy and the low value of the pound. England has a large number of first class tourist destinations including London (the English capital) and other interesting cities plus a selection of seaside resorts such as; Blackpool, Brighton, Bournemouth and Bognor Regis. One seaside town commonly overlooked is Plymouth in the south of England.

At first glance Plymouth appears a little plain and modern, but delving a little deeper and you will very quickly discover that the city has a fascinating history and a deep association with the sea. As long ago as the fifteen hundreds there has been a port in Plymouth. In 1588 Francis Drake embarked from the town’s port to attack and defeat the Spanish Armada. Another moment in history occurred in sixteen twenty when the Pilgrim Fathers embarked from the port.

It is possible to enjoy reasonably priced vacations in Plymouth by booking bed and breakfast in Plymouth rather than booking a expensive hotel. A simple online search will show that you can book a room for as little as £29 a night and some establishments have dinners at a very reasonable rate, commonly equal to, or cheaper than local restaurants.

Visitors Attractions In Plymouth

There are numerous places in Plymouth that are well worth visiting. Popular tourist attractions include; Merchant’s House Museum, the Elizabethan House, the National Marine Aquarium and the Barbican district. A cruise around the waters of the port is an excellent way to spend some time but if you find that you have more time why not take a day trip to places close to Plymouth, for example; Saltram House, Mount Edgcumbe or Buckland Abbey.

Saltram House is a lovely Tudor Mansion which is located 2m east of the town of Plymouth, Mount Edgcumbe is another Tudor house with parklands, landscaped gardens and coastal paths, and Buckland Abbey, about six miles from Plymouth, is a Cistercian abbey which was once owned by Sir Francis Drake and was later renovated as a family home.

If you and your family are in the process of considering taking a break in the city of Plymouth it is immensely important that you reserve your rooms at the earliest opportunity because, unfortunately guest houses and hotels in Plymouth tend to be alarmingly busy and are often fully booked for months in advance. If you are travelling in a group you may find that Plymouth apartments are a cheap alternative to Plymouth bed & breakfast. If you are visiting the UK from abroad then you could consider booking a room for a few days in London hotels to take in the attractions of the nations capital too.

When the majority of folk discuss England vacations they nearly always only mention seaside resorts such as Southport, Eastbourne, Bognor Regis and Clacton-on-Sea. Infrequently folk might think about having a short break in a particular English county for example the county of Devon in the south of England but not very often do they debate having a vacation in the city of Exeter. This article introduces various reasons why an Exeter vacation is a great idea.

Probably one of the most important reasons for having a short break in Exeter is that you will find cheap accommodation with bed and breakfast accommodation in Exeter available from about £25 per night and numerous rooms around the forty to fifty pounds range.

Obviously there has to be more than a minimal price to entice you to visit a city and Exeter certainly has loads to offer the possible visitor. You will discover that there are a great many top class visitor attractions in the city centre and even more not too far away and if that isn’t sufficient then the city of Plymouth is pretty close and you will discover that there is also low cost bed and breakfast in Plymouth and even more brilliant tourist attractions. Also you will find that there are plenty of breathtaking sites to see along the nearby coast.

Where To Stay In Exeter

The Drewe Arms
This accommodation is superb, it’s rooms are reasonably priced but the building itself is a picturesque seventeenth century thatched inn on the Two Moors Way walking route. It is important to know that it is roughly fifteen miles from Exeter’s city center. If you need more luxury the inn also has four-poster rooms available.

The Crawford Hotel
This accommodation is far closer to the center of the city, roughly 1.6 km. It is a two star establishment with good en suite accommodation and, crucially, you can access your room 24 hours a day, excellent if you are planning to have a long night out or if you will be needing to access the room during the day. You will find there is Free wireless internet access available in public areas of the hotel.

Visitor Attractions

In Exeter there are only a few of visitor attractions which merit a visit including; Rougemont Castle, St Peter’s Cathedral and the Royal Albert Museum. As mentioned earlier in this article there is a small selection of nearby seaside town and villages to visit the most beautiful being the old-fashioned villages of Beer, Seaton and Sidmouth.

Further away, between Exeter and Plymouth is the virtually unpopulated moorland of the Dartmoor National Park with the general region having several places to visit including A La Ronde, Buckfast Abbey and Buckland Abbey on the main road, to Plymouth. Along the way you will pass the Torbay area, which consists of Paignton, Torquay and Brixham and is frequently called the English Riviera.

Exeter truly is a superb city in which to take a vacation however why not have a think about having a 2 destination vacation and spend a few of days/nights in a really plush hotel in Plymouth and travel around the splendid countryside and coast in between the 2 superb vacation destinations?

In recent Years growing numbers folk are looking for new destinations which offer something completely different or, the absolute minimum something different to the common bar and beach vacation. Under the current economic conditions large numbers of families are, alarmingly realizing that they have a great deal less money for investing in a family vacation and are, frustratingly, having to making cutbacks to save cash. A way of meeting this requirement is to search for a less expensive destination. In the following article I introduce readers to the English city of Birmingham. With the pound Sterling so weak against the euro and dollar hotels and guest houses in Birmingham are much cheaper than last year.

The city of Birmingham is situated in the English county known as the West Midlands and the city’s inhabitants are described as being “Brummies”. Birmingham’s accent sounds typically northern English and it can be rather difficult to understand fully what is being said a difficulty which is made worse if if you are unfamiliar with such dialects. Luckily Brummies are kind, helpful and polite and do their utmost to explain clearly so if necessary do not be afraid to approach people about help and directions or assistance with bed and breakfast accommodation in Birmingham.

Birmingham possesses an excellent collection of visitor attractions including some highly interesting and equally informative galleries and museums, such as the Barber Institute of Fine Arts and the new Thinktank which is in the Eastside. The city of Birmingham also features a huge number of square miles of parks, woodland and open spaces, Sutton Park is the largest having 970 hectares making it the largest urban nature reserve in Europe.

The city of Birmingham has a varied and vibrant night scene with an excellent number of restaurants, cafes, coffee houses, bars, wine bars and nightclubs. You will find the most popular in one of Birmingham’s squares, Victoria Square, St Martin’s Square, Rotunda Square, Chamberlain Square, the historic Old Square at Corporation Street, Centenary Square and the Gas Street Basin. Gas Street Basin is the central hub of the city’s canal system. Birmingham has roughly thirty two miles of canal waterways with between eight canals which were created in the eighteenth century and continued being used by local companies nearly until the end of the twentieth century.

The city of Bristol has a varied and rich history, making it the ideal city for a weekend city break. At one time Bristol City was included in the top 3 medieval towns after London. Bristol was one of the most important trading ports in England, and in the 14C, it handled most of the country’s trade with the Irish. In 1373 Bristol became a county in it’s own right, and during this time Bristol developed into the centre of manufacturing and shipbuilding. It is the city’s diverse cultural history which helps to make it one of the most exciting cities in England of this present time. Fortunately, those wanting to spend time in Bristol will discover that there is a plentiful amount of Bristol bed & breakfast available online, making it incredibly easy to books rooms.

The city of Bristol has a diverse arts scene with Bristol breeding a number of immensely talented and widely known artists in the past and, most probably, the future too. Not too many people know that Wallace & Grommit started life in Bristol, and that Cary Grant also hailed from the city. The famous street artist named Banksy painted his most well known pieces of art in Bristol. The City Museum & Art Gallery is a free visitor attraction well worth a visit and features a widely varied collection of superb ancient artefacts, natural history, archaeology, works of art as well as an ever changing range of exhibitions and events. If you are looking for a truly unique arts centre experience then a visit Spike Island could be the answer. This centre concentrates upon the production and exhibition of contemporary visual arts, including various aspects of printmaking, multimedia projects, painting, working with moving images and more. If you would much rather a slightly more traditional art gallery, then The Royal West of England Academy should be the ideal answer. It was Bristol’s first art gallery and it now has over one thousand two hundred artistic works dating from the 19th century to the present day.

You will discover a respectable number of visitor attractions in the city of Bristol. A great place to visit is Bristol Zoo Gardens which is home to more than four hundred and fifty different species of animal. Bristol Zoo is also involved in in the conservation of endangered mammals, insects and amphibians. from around the world.

If horses are your favourite animal then a few hours spent at Horseworld would be ideal for you and your family. A day out at Horseworld will allow you to personally meet rescued donkeys, horses and ponies. If you really want to you can even indulge in the hands on feeding of the creatures. Another 2 visitor attractions which you may also fascinate you are Noah’s Ark Zoo Farm and Avon Valley Adventure & Wildlife Park, both of which provide all of the essentials you will need for a superb day out for the family.

If you are in the process of thinking about spending a few days in Bristol it is immensely important that you reserve your lodgings as early as possible because, sadly Bristol hotel and guest house accommodation tend to be amazingly busy and are often fully booked months in advance.

Blackpool is an amazingly popular seaside resort situated on the English North West coast, which is amazingly popular with visitors coming from the nearby cities which include Warrington, Liverpool, Warrington and more. Blackpool is also deeply popular with visitors from all over Scotland who appear in large numbers in a similar way to the hoards of factory workers of the past on their company vacation. Occasionally it seems as though the seaside resort is smothered in vacation accommodation and entertainments and even though there is a great deal of Blackpool bed & breakfast accommodation it is advisable to book reservations early to be sure. Accommodation varies from the cheerful and cheap to five star. Many are situated on the sea front alternatively, if you would prefer book somewhere less noisy there are some in the suburbs.

Folk first started to visit Blackpool in the 18th century who had arrived to enjoy the new fashion of sea bathing. With the advent of the railway, in 1846, the town experienced more folk arriving to “take the cure” as it was called. Nowadays people can travel to Blackpool by train, car or plane arriving there much faster than the early Victorians who could take up to 48 hrs from Manchester.

The Famous Blackpool Pleasure Beach

The primary attraction in Blackpool, in Lancashire, England, which gets roughly seven million customers every twelve months, is Blackpool Pleasure Beach. Blackpool’s Pleasure Beach is a funfair of enormous size with fear inducing big rides, for example the Big One, Grand National, Valhalla, Ice Blast, Wild Mouse and Zipper Dipper, and including many, many more sideshows, food booths, entertainments, children’s rides, sidestalls and games. The latest big ride is Infusion, the world’s first to have a suspended looping coaster entirely over water.

A useful tip: If you are visiting the Pleasure Beach as a family or group you can make considerable savings by buying a wristband for unlimited rides especially if you will be going on many rides as the cost of each ride soon begins to hurt.

Getting To Blackpool And B&B Accommodation

Blackpool is, as mentioned earlier, very easy to get to nowadays as you are able to travel there by air, car or train. If arriving by train you will, most likely, be arriving at Blackpool’s main train station, which is Blackpool North situated on Talbot Road. Not that fat away, just a little distance down the road you will find the Blackpool National Express Coach Station. The other railway station, Blackpool South, is at Waterloo Road, South Promenade, nearer the Pleasure Beach. Blackpool Airport is situated about two miles from the center of town and was previously called, Blackpool Squires Gate Airport, one of the oldest airports in the UK.

Bed and breakfast in Blackpool is usually fairly cheap. Accommodation is much cheaper out of season and a little more expensive at weekends. Blackpool hotels are most expensive at the time of the Illuminations, which is really peak season in Blackpool.

A useful tip: Some hotels can be noisy and busy especially those found near to Central Pier and North Pier. If you require at a place which is not so noisy take a look beyond the North Pier.

During these times of hardship large numbers of folk are having to seriously looking at their way of life and attempting to save pennies. One way in which many are saving is to have an English vacation the reason being that the £ has lost ground against other currencies leading to the situation that foriegn vacations for the British are expensive than in years past and much less expensive for those visitors coming from Europe and America. In the following article I briefly introduce the seaside town of Southport, Merseyside, England.

Southport is a exquisite seaside town found on the North West coast of England. Visitor attractions include, Lord Street, Wayfarers’ Arcade, Churchtown village, the Botanic Gardens at Churchtown, Churchtown village and more. Lord Street is Southport’s main street. All the way along one side of Lord Street the paving stones are covered by ornate Victorian iron work together with a row of lush green trees closer to the road. On the other side of the street you will discover a Victorian bandstand, beautiful flower beds, gardens and fountains. At the very of Lord Street is most probably the most luxuriant war memorials in the UK with a centrally placed obelisk and 2 other memorials on either side which feature huge columns. It is along Lord Street that you will find some of the finest architecture in Southport and it is where you will discover the Victorian Wayfarers’ Arcade.

At the very end Lord Street you will discover the wonderful Hesketh Park. Hesketh Park is named after the Hesketh family the park is heavily wooded, just like Lord Street. There are beautiful hidden areas to be discovered, a play park, glass house, bandstand and more to be found within Hesketh Park however the most prominent feature is the gorgeous lake.

You will find another wonderful park, the Botanic Gardens in Chruchtown which has a large area of water set out like a river with boating, a bridge, ducks, swans and other wildlife and if animals and birds are your thing the gardens also has a tiny zoo, just across the way from the cafe and museum. The village of Churchtown is a picturesque collection of old fishermen’s cottages, cottages and houses the majority of which are white and some of them have a roof of thatch. It is vitally important that you explore on foot and that you are not afraid to look down alleys because there are a small number of hidden places of interest well worth the work to find.

Finding bed & breakfast in Southport is easy with a wide choice of guest houses and hotels in Southport taking reservations online. There are hotels for all budgets and tastes from from luxurious to cheap and cheerful in the centre of Southport or just outside.
