Niagara Falls Dare Devils
Monday, January 31st, 2011The Niagara falls are one most famous water falls in the world making them a paradise for Dare devils alike. Thousands of Tourists visit the falls on their Canada Holidays. Many men have died playing with the terrifyingly high water fall (53m) dare devils all over the world dream of plucking up the courage to throw themselves over the huge falls. The thought of being flung over the falls is just unbearable to most but a few revolutionaries have taken the plunge and survived the Death defying free fall.
the most famous of all the dare devils was Mrs Annie Taylor the first survivor of the falls, she was a school teacher who wanted a new life of fame and fortune and the only way she could imagine doing it was by throwing herself over the edge of the monstrous horse shoe falls ( These are the larger of the Fall located in Canada you may find excursions on Toronto Holidays). At the old age of 65 Annie jumped into a large whiskey barrel with her companion her black cat and was taken out into the Niagara river, 17 minutes later she appeared at the lip of the falls and she thrown right over the edge and plunged straight down into the water. When the barrel appeared on the surface at the bottom of the falls in one piece on looks screamed in amazement the barrel was salvaged and was dragged ashore to find old Annie inside alive! She was very dazed and confused ad probably felt concussed.
An English man Charles Stephen attempted the same life threatening stunt but died because he fell out of the bottom of the barrel and landed in the rocks at the bottom, only his arm was ever found.
If taking a visit to the Niagara falls isn’t up your street, Canada still has so much more to offerCanada Rail Tours around the scenic rookie mountains into the secluded ski resort towns such as whistler.
