Somerset is a county of huge variety – from the flat marshlands of the Levels and Moors to the steep cliffs of the Mendips or the rolling landscape of Exmoor, we have plenty to offer.

The Countyof Somerset is really a rural region in the southwest of England, but there is a lot more to do than go to farms. This region has a rich heritage and provides numerous beautiful visiting options.

Wookey Hole caves have been inhabited by humans for 50,000 years and are now reported to be haunted by numerous ghosts. Children of all ages will delight within the magnificent caves and stories,  hall of mirrors, and crazy golf course. There is also a large collection of life-size dinosaur models and look out for the witch!

Kids will love going to the Royal Navy museum at Yeovilton. Here, you are able to step on board a British-built Concorde. You are able to also appreciate an encounter in a helicopter during the experience.

The splendid and delicious tradition of cider making is one of the best traditions of Somerset. Leave the youngsters at home and enjoy the farm’s conventional,  ciders. Explore antique cider presses and equipment, a walk via the orchards, along with a fine lunch of local produce.

7 stunning beaches lie just beyond the estuary from the River Axe. During the summer, kids can appreciate donkey rides on the sand at the big, main beach at Burnham. Enjoy a quiet morning of bird watching at South Beach or the natural boating pool of North Beach, all close to shops and pubs.

This may be the UK’s biggest gorge cleaved via the hills northeast from the village Cheddar. At the bottom from the impressive gorge, are the Cheddar Caves. Take tours of Gough’s Cave, Cox’s Cave, walk three miles to the top from the gorge, or take 274 steps to the top from the lookout tower.

As soon as, several cheese makers offered authentic slabs of Britain’s favourite cheese in Cheddar. Today, the only company left in the village is Cheddar gorge Cheese Company. Watch the numerous stages of cheese making, enjoy the tasting bar, and buy some cheese and local pickles to take home.
