I just moved away from Destin to Texas and i haven’t seen what the beach looked like after the oil spill and i’m like heart broken.This was the beach i learned to surf at and the only one i WOULD surf in!

Instead of the government supporting the efforts of BP for a carbon tax, they should act with real authority and sieze the assets of BP for the people effected and clean-up effort. In a perfect world BP would be bankrupt, in this world they run the gov’t. The money set aside is a joke and doesn’t even come close to the true value lost. How can you compare a sustained way of life to chex paying substandard lifstyle?

@APB187 how do you know the cost??? you also forget 40% of BP shareholders are yanks. dont forget to go after Transocean (US company) who owned and operated the rig or Halliburton(US company) who cemented the well, or Cameron International (US company) who built the BOP which failed, your American workers on the rig, or your government that regulates and WANTS the oil drilled. Every American is also to blame for this due to your desire for oil.

Does anyone think that BP should be liable for the change of lifestyle that so many people are having to make. I am not talking about the people who have been financially affecting. I mean the people who grew up building their dreams. There are a lot of people who enjoy fishing, surfing, swimming, diving etc… How will they be compensated. Obviously the people who are financially affected take priority but still… What is your opinion?
