Looking for a nice vacation spot in Florida.?

My boyfriend and I are looking for a nice area to vacation in Florida in February. We are looking into visiting the Keys but still not sure. Is there a beautiful area in Florida that is more low key, quiet and somewhere older people visit as opposed to an area where young people party?

I think you would really love the Keys in February I’ve vacationed and lived all over Florida for the past 30 years and the best place to be in Feb would be the Keys. Marathon, Islamorada and Key Largo are totally more low key then Key West. And you can’t beat the weather at that time of year Keep in mind Feb is still "snow bird" season which means the people who hate the North and Winter have second homes and spend the winters in south Florida, so you should make reservations early for any where in South Florida

I’ll be honest, I’ve vacationed at several beaches in Florida and Daytona was my least favorite. It’s just more commerical

than others and not such a great "vacation" spot. Unless you’re into Nascar? I’d keep looking if I were you!

There is a lot of stuff to do in Daytona FL. Here are some suggestions:

I would spend a night or two at the Boardwalk. There are plenty of family things to do there and some great “rides” for the

family. There are also plenty of really neat shops around there that make for a great stroll.

I might also play some mini golf there are a few places to do this like Pirate’s Island, Congo River and Mystic Harbor.

There is also Daytona Lagoon which is a great water park and fun for the whole family. They also have a rock wall, go karts,

mini golf and more. It is a pretty cool entertainment complex.

If your family likes Auto Racing be sure to check out the Living Legends of Auto Racing Museum it is a good time for all!

There is the Marine Science center which is always cool, you can see some awesome creatures and learn about the animals in

the area. I love this place.

If you want an experience that let’s you get up close and personal with dolphins you might want to check out Marineland. It

is only about 20 minutes away located near St. Augustine.

Other than South Beach, it’s really not as much of a party city as people tend to believe it is. Sunny Isles Beach is really nice, and it’s definitely quieter. Bal Harbour is also, as well as Bay Harbour. Hallandale Beach is in Broward County, but right at the border of Dade and Broward country, and it’s definitely more of an "old people" city. Golden Beach is nice, but there aren’t any hotels as commercial development isn’t allowed in the city… Daytona Beach, Parkland/Coral Springs, Coral Gables and surrounding areas are nice. Key Largo is the first key, and it’s only about an hour drive south of Miami. However, the farther down you go, the nicer it gets. St. Augustine is filled with history, and Tampa is a very nice city — though neither are near Miami.

Naples would be a good option in February and it is geared toward the more mature crown. Check out http://www.napleshotelscheap.com for some ideas on where to stay. If you are not sold on the area you can also visit http://www.topfloridaresorts.com and find the best accommodations through out the state.

there is this place in the keys called Ocean Reef Club. you should check it out in the internet a beautiful beach resort. I have personaly been there. and yes its peacefully quiet and the only mode of tranpostation there could be your regular car. But if you actually enjoy the scenery and the fresh air while you ride around you can rent a golfcart, very convinient….. DONT FORGET YOUR CAMERA AND A NICE DRESSING GOWN the restaurants are high class, but there are little dinner shops if you also like….

ive been there i loved it

theres a pecan farm outside of tampa bay, and they rent tents to couples only, no kids allowed. they show u how to pick pecans, and they furnish breakfast for u every day. u get to participate in all the farm chores, and its a lot of fun.
