Florida Vacation?
My husband and I will be taking our two boys (ages 16 and 10) to Florida for vacation the week of March 17th. We are planning Disney World but would like to hang at the beach for a couple of days also. Where would be a nice beach that we could go to? Warm water, nice sand? Also, my older son would like to try boogie boarding, could we rent a boogie board? If so, need to know what beaches would rent those. Thanks!

Cocoa would be my suggestion. Nice beach and yes you can rent a boogie board. They also hold surfing competitions at Cocoa Beach if that tells you anything about the surf conditions. Here is a link for the boogie board rental and other information.

and here is a great little hotel right next to the pier to stay at, the wife and I have stayed there several times, nice beachfront rooms available too.

Our family is going next week, and we were wondering the same thing! I have heard different things, we are planning on going to cocoa beach for a day, and you can rent different things at ron jons (not sure about boggie boards), and we may travel to Clearwater. I hear that the gulf coast is warmer…but then i heard that the beaches are nicer on the east coast with better waves..

Cocoa Beach is the closest – it’s a pretty busy beach, so I would assume that there is a place to rent a board, although I have never actually done it.

Live on Indian Rocks Beach, 2miles south of Clearwater. The Gulf of Mexico is beautiful, grew up on the Atlantic Ocean. More waves, no way as nice as the Gulf. Just this pm. took a long walk on beach, water was temperature friendly, sand, warm. You can rent all over, have fun!!!

Go to Cocoa Beach – water is a good 7-10 degrees warmer than Daytona.
On Disney tickets, most people will tell you that you can’t get a discount but you can…
I saved over $340 on our family of five’s 4 day hoppers by calling a special number at Disney I read about in an ebook I bought at http://www.InsiderWDWDeals.com I’d share but it was copyrighted material.
Turns out there’s a Preferred Desk and all you have to do is call a different number to get the discount – just got my tickets in the mail shipped right from Disney. The book was on a Money Back Guarantee so I said what the heck.
Have fun.
