Coolum Beach matures as a purveyor of quality cuisine
You should find some great places to eat on your holiday in Coolum Beach. There are many good restaurants and cafes that offer a variety of good food. You may choose from a multitude of restaurants that serve different cuisines such as Modern Australian, Mediterranean, Asian, Italian foods to mention a few favourites. You can have breakfast near the water, experience leisurely lunch or maybe have dinner somewhere out of town.
If you are in the mood for Pizza and Modern Australia, Thong and Sarong at Coolum Beach Hotel is a great place to start. The atmosphere is relaxing so you can enjoy your meal without being distracted by too much noise. They also have a large playground nearby where your kids can amuse themselves with DVD’s, car rides, Playstations and such. Their menu includes Chicken, pizza and pasta, seafood and steak, served with a full range of vegetables and some interesting sauces.
However, if you prefer Mediterranean Cuisine, Harvest is the choice for you. Harvest is situated in on the David Low Way just round the corner from Elizabeth street in the heart of the beachfront esplanade. The Barramundi and Eye fillet dishes get rave reviews despite their simplicity. They offer fresh food and fast service.
Tickle your taste buds at a great little Thai restaurant called Thai Spice. This is a family owned restaurant that has been serving Thai food for over 6 years now. There is a fantastic range of meat dishes as well as seafood as fresh as you will find anywhere and a good selection for vegetarians. The prices seem extremely good value as there are some dishes at $6.50 with lunch specials running at $8.90, the Beef in Oyster sauce and the Chicken pad thai go down very well with locals and tourists. Not a bad option either for take away if you have dining facilities in your holiday apartment.
A great alternative is a beachfornt restaurant called Sandbar. It is located in the Coolum Beach Surf Club on David Low Way. The best view in town from the surf club’s indoor and outdoor first floor panaoramic dining areas and the food which is best described as modern australian is generally very good. The surf club is the perfect place for a cool beer whilst watching the surf roll in.
